Introducing the Bob & Edie Green Writing Scholarship!
At Xperitas, we strive to make our transformative language immersion programs available to students who might not otherwise have the means to participate. To that end, we offer a multitude of need-based financial aid grants to qualifying students every year. Now, we are excited to announce a new merit-based scholarship opportunity for our participants: The Bob & Edie Green Writing Scholarship!
Bob and Edie Green worked as German teachers for many years before dedicating themselves to making language immersion programs available to high school and middle school world language students. In 1972, these two high school German teachers founded Intercultural Student Experiences, which would eventually grow into Xperitas. And starting in 2020, up to four merit-based scholarships of $500 will be awarded annually in honor of the two of them.
Recipients of the Bob & Edie Green Writing Scholarship are required to submit a blog post or a vlog following their language immersion experience. All of our Xperitas language immersion program participants are invited to apply; however, this is an especially great opportunity for any students with an interest in writing, communications or journalism to produce professional work for their portfolio.
Each December, Bob & Edie Green Scholarship winners will be chosen by a group of Xperitas staff and board members. The award amounts will then be applied to the winners’ language immersion programs for the following calendar year.
We’d like to thank Edie Green for helping us offer this scholarship opportunity to deserving students.
