Your student group's Spanish language immersion begins in the capital of San Juan and takes you east to kayak in a bioluminescent bay, set sail on a catamaran, and hike through El Yunque Rainforest. Day 1 | San Juan

Arrive in San Juan and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner to introduce you to the fabulous Puerto Rican cuisine! Meals Included: Dinner

Day 2 | Fajardo

Start the day with a walking tour of Old San Juan and Fort San Cristóbal. Then, take an art class in the former military barracks, now known as the Museo de Las Américas. Afterwards, head east to Fajardo, where you will navigate the waters of a bioluminescent bay by kayaking, an adventure you will never forget. Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 3 | Fajardo

Set sail on a catamaran and enjoy an amazing snorkeling experience. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 4 | Family Stay

Experience the rhythms of the Afro-Carribean culture during a Bomba workshop in the morning, followed by a visit to a nearby ceremonial cave. Then, visit the studio of renowned artist Samuel Lind. On the way to El Yunque National Park, stop by Vacía Talega beach to learn about the island's coastal ecosystems. After your stop at the beach, embark on a guided hike through El Yunque Rainforest. Upon your return to San Juan that night, you will meet your host family (2-3 students per host family). Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 5 | Family Stay

Enjoy breakfast with your familia puertorriqueña and begin your first day of Spanish classes. In the afteroon, explore the local farmer’s market through a fun scavenger hunt. Later, learn about Puerto Rico’s indigenous cultures and art at the Museo de Historia, Antropología y Arte de la Universidad de San Juan. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 | Family Stay

Stroll around a local botanical garden following your morning Spanish classes. Then, perfect your dance moves at a salsa class with the flora and fauna as your backdrop. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7 | Family Stay

After a morning in Spanish class, head to the central mountain range in Cayey to feast on the traditional lechón dish in a festive setting. Then, visit the Charco Azul River. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8 | Family Stay

Continue your morning Spanish classes, then spend the rest of the day participating in a group volunteer activity. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 9 | Family Stay

Begin the day with a final Spanish class and then soak up the island lifestyle with a relaxing afternoon at the beach. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 10 | Return

Bid farewell to your Puerto Rican hosts and transfer to the airport for your flight back home. Meals Included: Breakfast

Billing and Payments: Xperitas will email a bill for the final payment approximately three weeks before it is due. For all other payments please refer to this schedule. A payment reminder will be sent to you via email a week before a scheduled payment is due. Payments can be made by credit/debit card via the Xperitas portal or by check or money order payable to Xperitas.

Cancellations: Any cancellation made through October 1, 2025 will receive a refund of the amount paid minus a $100 administrative fee. Cancellations made after this date will be calculated on an individual basis at the time of cancellation and follow the schedule and terms below.

Enrollment Information

*Prices are based on a minimum group size of 18 students. When the minimum group size is not reached, a small-group supplement will apply. Final prices are determined by dates, air arrangements, family stay communities and other program components as confirmed by Xperitas, as well as the total size of the group and number of leaders at the time of final billing. Prices are subject to change due to fluctuations in fuel prices, exchange rates, and airfare costs beyond the control of Xperitas.
