Rencontres du Nord au Sud is a 12-day, teacher-led French language immersion program that takes students from Paris to a French host community and the Côte d’Azur. Explore Paris’s landmarks and museums before spending five nights with a French host family, using the language through shared meals, conversations, and everyday activities.
Finish the program with two nights in Nice, time to explore the city’s Old Town and seaside promenades, and a day trip to Monaco. Throughout the program, students practice French and experience daily life in different regions of France.

Day 1 | Departure
Depart for France and begin your journey to Paris.

Day 2 | Paris
Bienvenue en France! Begin exploring the City of Light with visits to landmarks including the Champs-Élysées, Sacré-Cœur, and the Louvre. The day concludes with a welcome dinner alongside your fellow travelers.

Day 3 | Paris
Explore the Latin Quarter, Place Saint-Michel, and historic Île de la Cité with your teacher. Take part in your group’s selected cultural activity in Paris: a visit to Atelier des Lumières, a visit to Montparnasse Tower, or a cooking workshop. Enjoy time for lunch and further exploration of the city.

Day 4 | Paris
Visit the Musée d’Orsay using your entrance fee allowance to discover its renowned Impressionist collection. Continue exploring Paris with your teacher before enjoying an included Seine River cruise.

Day 5 | Family Stay
Travel by train to your family stay community and meet your French host family. Begin your five-night Family Stay Experience®, practicing French through conversations, shared meals, and everyday life.

Days 6–9 | Family Stay
Live like a local while sharing meals, conversations, and everyday routines with your host family. This immersive experience allows students to develop language skills through authentic daily interactions.

Day 10 | Nice
Bid farewell to your host family and travel south to the beautiful Côte d’Azur. Spend the afternoon exploring Nice, including the Promenade des Anglais, Old Town, and lively city squares.

Day 11 | Monaco
Travel by train to Monaco and explore its historic streets and Mediterranean views with your teacher. If the schedule permits, watch the Changing of the Guard before returning to Nice for your farewell dinner.

Day 12 | Return
Transfer to the airport for your journey home after an unforgettable French language immersion experience.

Prices are based on a minimum group size of 10 students. If the minimum is not met and your group cannot be combined, a small-group supplement will apply. Final pricing is determined by confirmed dates, air arrangements, family stay communities, program components, group size, and number of leaders at final billing.
Prices are subject to change due to fluctuations in fuel prices, exchange rates, and airfare costs beyond the control of Xperitas.
The order of itinerary items may change due to unforeseen circumstances prior to or during the program.
Activities listed in the itinerary that are not included in the program inclusions are paid for on-site using the entrance fee allowance, with reservations arranged in advance where needed.
My son had a fantastic time. He wanted to go back before he was even home. The Family Stay Experience was great for him. Hiking, youth group, family birthday party, relaxing at the family home, hanging out with his host brother’s friends and checking out the city. He really enjoyed the complete package of this trip!
He would not have taken French for four years if this trip wasn’t planned. And now he is taking a fifth year of French. My son has always been a saver. But having to save and earn money to pay for the majority of this trip was a life-long lesson. He is hoping to visit France and other countries in the future.
For any students who are unsure about pursuing an immersion program, I can only recommend giving it a try. My trip to France with Xperitas brought a new dimension to a language and culture I hadn’t experienced firsthand. Exploring new places and cultures abroad has given me some of my best memories and best friends, and has certainly played a role in shaping my goals for the future.
