Transformational Global Immersion Since 1972
Founded by Minneapolis world language teachers Jim Phelan and Bob and Edie Green, Xperitas began with a simple idea: students learn best when they experience culture directly. That belief continues to guide us today.
For more than fifty years, our programs have been known for authentic language immersion, including our celebrated Family Stay Experience®, where students live with a local family and experience daily life as part of the community. These experiences create lasting cultural understanding and often become the most meaningful part of a student’s journey.
Today, Xperitas is expanding beyond traditional language immersion to offer new types of global learning experiences. Our programs increasingly explore culture, history, social impact, and global themes through immersive travel that connects students with local communities and perspectives around the world.
While our programs continue to evolve, our purpose remains the same: helping young people develop the curiosity, empathy, and understanding needed to thrive in an interconnected world.
