La Vie en Normandie is a 15-day teacher-led French language and cultural immersion program combining Paris, the Loire Valley, Normandy, and Brittany with the Xperitas Family Stay Experience®. Students explore Parisian museums and neighborhoods, discover the Loire Valley’s royal heritage, and learn about World War II at Normandy’s D-Day beaches.</d
Visits to Mont-Saint-Michel and Saint-Malo introduce students to historic sites and coastal communities before they join French host families. Through shared meals, conversations, and everyday routines, students practice French and experience daily life in France. The program concludes with a return to Paris.

Day 1 | Departure
Depart for France and begin your journey to Paris.
Meals Included: As provided by the airline
Day 2 | Paris
Arrive in Paris and begin exploring the City of Light with your teacher. Learn to use the métro and practice your French as you discover local cafés, shops, and neighborhoods.

Day 3 | Paris
Discover masterpieces at the Musée du Louvre before continuing your teacher-led exploration of Paris. Stroll along the Seine and the Champs-Élysées, and admire the Arc de Triomphe. Suggested visits to the Musée d’Orsay or admission to the Arc de Triomphe can be arranged using the entrance fee allowance, subject to availability.

Day 4 | Paris
Explore Montmartre with your teacher and enjoy views of Paris from the area around Sacré-Cœur. Participate in your group’s selected cultural activity: a visit to Atelier des Lumières or a tarte flambée cooking workshop. End the day with a Seine river cruise. The order of activities may vary according to reservation times.

Day 5 | Loire Valley & Blois
Travel by private coach through the Loire Valley, with suggested visits to the châteaux of Chambord and Chenonceau using the entrance fee allowance. Continue to Blois for an included group dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 6 | Normandy
Travel to Normandy to explore the historic D-Day landing beaches and learn about the events of World War II. Suggested visits include the Musée du Débarquement in Arromanches, using the entrance fee allowance. Continue to Bayeux for teacher-led exploration of the town.

Day 7 | Saint-Malo & Mont Saint-Michel
Travel by private coach to Mont-Saint-Michel and explore its village with your teacher. An optional visit to the abbey can be arranged using the entrance fee allowance, subject to availability. Explore the walled city of Saint-Malo, where you will spend the night.

Day 8 | Family Stay
Meet your French host family and begin an immersive cultural experience filled with authentic language practice and everyday life.

Days 9–13 | Family Stay
Live like a local while sharing meals, conversations, and daily routines with your host family. Students build confidence using French in meaningful real-world situations.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 14 | Paris
Say goodbye to your host family and return to Paris by train. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy teacher-led sightseeing or time for last-minute shopping before gathering for an Xperitas farewell dinner.

Day 15 | Return
Transfer to the airport for your journey home after an unforgettable French language immersion experience.

Prices are based on a minimum group size of 24 students. If the minimum is not met and your group cannot be combined, a small-group supplement will apply. Final pricing is determined by confirmed dates, air arrangements, family stay communities, program components, group size, and number of leaders at final billing.

My son had a fantastic time. He wanted to go back before he was even home. The Family Stay Experience was great for him. Hiking, youth group, family birthday party, relaxing at the family home, hanging out with his host brother’s friends and checking out the city. He really enjoyed the complete package of this trip!
He would not have taken French for four years if this trip wasn’t planned. And now he is taking a fifth year of French. My son has always been a saver. But having to save and earn money to pay for the majority of this trip was a life-long lesson. He is hoping to visit France and other countries in the future.
For any students who are unsure about pursuing an immersion program, I can only recommend giving it a try. My trip to France with Xperitas brought a new dimension to a language and culture I hadn’t experienced firsthand. Exploring new places and cultures abroad has given me some of my best memories and best friends, and has certainly played a role in shaping my goals for the future.
