9-Day Program | A unique Spanish language immersion experience begins for your student group upon your arrival in San José! A Spanish-speaking, certified naturalist guide leads you through the ever-changing, natural beauty of Costa Rica. The adventure continues with ziplining through the rainforest and a visit to the local hot springs. After experiencing the natural wonders of Costa Rica first-hand, students meet their volunteer host family for five nights of pura vida. Our unforgettable Family Stay Experience® allows students to become temporary locals and appreciate the everyday Costa Rican lifestyle. Spanish language skills learned in the classroom come to life in this in-depth language immersion travel experience in Latin America. The order of this itinerary is subject to change. Day 1 | Departure

Upon arrival in San José, transfer to your hotel. Meals Included: Dinner

Day 2 | Arenal

Visit a local market on your way to beautiful Arenal. Paint your own traditional oxcart wheel in an artisan workshop in Sarchí. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 | Arenal

Spend the morning at the majestic La Fortuna waterfall and take a dip in its refreshing waters! Then head to the beautiful organic farm where you’ll learn about the tropical plants and traditional techniques of the area. Here you will participate in a reforestation project where you will have a chance to plant a tree in your school’s honor. After that enjoy a delicious freshly made lunch. Cap off the evening with a visit to local hot springs! Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 | Family Stay

Cruise through the canopies as you zipline through the trees! Then, it’s time to meet your local host family! After transfering to the family stay community you’ll be free to enjoy the afternoon and meals with your familia tica. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Days 5 - 8 | Family Stay

Enjoy meals and time with your host family. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 9 | Return

Transfer to the airport and head back to the United States with a lifetime of memories! Meals Included: Breakfast

Spring Payment Schedule

Payment and cancellation schedule:

Billing and Payments: Xperitas will email a bill for the final payment approximately three weeks before it is due. For all other payments please refer to this schedule. A payment reminder will be sent to you via email a week before a scheduled payment is due. Payments can be made by credit/debit card via the Xperitas portal or by check or money order payable to Xperitas.

Cancellations: Any cancellation made through October 1, 2024 will receive a refund of the amount paid minus a $100 administrative fee. Cancellations made after this date will be calculated on an individual basis at the time of cancellation and follow the schedule and terms below.

Enrollment Information

*Prices are based on a minimum group size of 10 students. When the minimum group size is not reached, a small-group supplement will apply. Final prices are determined by dates, air arrangements, family stay communities and other program components as confirmed by Xperitas, as well as the total size of the group and number of leaders at the time of final billing. Prices are subject to change due to fluctuations in fuel prices, exchange rates, and airfare costs beyond the control of Xperitas.

The order of this itinerary and all itinerary items are subject to change based on unforeseen circumstances that may arise prior to or during the program.
