This 14-day teacher-led French language immersion program begins in Switzerland, where students discover Lausanne, Montreux and the Lake Geneva region through local food, cultural visits and historic landmarks.
Students then travel to France for a 6-night Family Stay Experience®, practicing French through shared meals, everyday conversations and time with their host family.
The program concludes with 3 nights in Paris, including visits to the Louvre, a Seine River cruise and time to explore the city’s neighborhoods and landmarks with their teacher.
*Travelers do not need to arrange their own air. Air travel is included in the program, but the cost will be added once the group air contract is confirmed. Price is valid for 2027.

Day 1 | Departure
Depart the U.S. on an overnight flight to Geneva, Switzerland.
Meals Included: As provided by the airline
Day 2 | Lausanne
Arrive in Geneva and transfer to Lausanne. Explore the city with your teacher, taking in its hills and views of Lake Geneva. Suggested visits include the Musée Olympique or the historic Cathédrale de Lausanne, using the entrance fee allowance where admission fees apply.

Day 3 | Montreux
Depart Lausanne by coach for Gruyère, where you’ll enjoy a raclette lunch and have the opportunity to visit a cheese factory. Continue to Broc for a suggested chocolate factory visit before traveling to Montreux for the night. Factory admission fees can be paid using the entrance fee allowance.

Day 4 | Montreux
Explore Montreux and the Lake Geneva region with your teacher, using local public transportation. Suggested visits include Château de Chillon and the Food Museum in Vevey, with admission fees paid using the entrance fee allowance. Travel by boat on Lake Geneva as part of the day’s sightseeing, depending on schedules. Any applicable local transportation costs can be paid using the public transit allowance.

Day 5 | En Route to Family Stay
Travel to your host community in France. Depending on the program, students may stay in Lyon, Vienne, Nantua or Mâcon. Meet your host family and begin your Family Stay Experience®.

Days 6–10 | Family Stay
Spend time with your French host family, sharing meals, participating in daily routines and practicing French through everyday conversations. Activities vary by family and host community.

Day 11 | Paris
Travel by train to Paris. Depending on your arrival time, explore the Latin Quarter, Jardin du Luxembourg and the Saint-Michel area with your teacher. Continue to Île de la Cité to see Notre-Dame. Additional visits, such as Sainte-Chapelle or the Conciergerie, can be planned using the entrance fee allowance, subject to reservations and available time.

Day 12 | Paris
Discover the Louvre and its famous pyramid before exploring Montmartre. Visit the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur and the artistic Place du Tertre.

Day 13 | Paris
Enjoy the activity selected by your group: a visit to the Atelier des Lumières or a cooking workshop where you’ll prepare tarte flambée (Flammekueche). Take a Bateaux Mouches cruise on the Seine and end the day with a farewell dinner.

Day 14 | Return
Transfer to the airport and return to the U.S.

Prices are based on a minimum group size of 24 students. If the minimum is not met and your group cannot be combined, a small-group supplement will apply. Final pricing is determined by confirmed dates, air arrangements, family stay communities, program components, group size, and number of leaders at final billing.

He would not have taken French for four years if this trip wasn’t planned. And now he is taking a fifth year of French. My son has always been a saver. But having to save and earn money to pay for the majority of this trip was a life-long lesson. He is hoping to visit France and other countries in the future.
My son had a fantastic time. He wanted to go back before he was even home. The Family Stay Experience was great for him. Hiking, youth group, family birthday party, relaxing at the family home, hanging out with his host brother’s friends and checking out the city. He really enjoyed the complete package of this trip!
For any students who are unsure about pursuing an immersion program, I can only recommend giving it a try. My trip to France with Xperitas brought a new dimension to a language and culture I hadn’t experienced firsthand. Exploring new places and cultures abroad has given me some of my best memories and best friends, and has certainly played a role in shaping my goals for the future.
