Experience True German & French Language Immersion

This 14-day program brings students to France and Germany to practice their language skills and experience everyday life in both countries. Begin in Paris with visits to famous landmarks and museums, then travel to Strasbourg to discover its French and German cultural influences.

Students then spend five nights with a French or German host family through the Xperitas Family Stay Experience®. Through shared meals, daily routines, and conversations, they practice their language skills and get to know life in their host community.

The journey continues in Munich and Bavaria, where students explore the city, cycle through Munich, and visit one of King Ludwig’s famous castles. By experiencing both French and German-speaking communities, students gain a broader perspective on language, culture, and life in Europe.

Price

  • $4,139 per student PLUS cost of international flights*
  • Ask about pricing to add a travel coordinator to your program
  • For every 6 students, the cost of one leader is included in the price
  • For every enrolled student on your program, there is a $50 leader stipend to help leaders offset expenses while abroad.
  • Students can save $200 with our Early Bird Discount!

*Travelers do not need to arrange their own air. Air travel is included in the program, but the cost will be added once the group air contract is confirmed. Price is valid for 2027.

  • Airfare variances due to contract changes or group size

  • Variance in air cost due to changes in group contract after booking or if the group size prevents using the booked air contract

  • Admission to the Louvre Museum for a self-guided visit
  • One group activity of your choice: admission to Atelier des Lumières in Paris or an Alsatian tarte flambée cooking workshop in Paris or Strasbourg

  • Entrance to Nymphenburg Palace
  • Guided tour of Neuschwanstein Castle

Add-on Travel Coordinator

The role of the Travel Coordinator is as follows:

  • Provides explanation, historical information, and commentary
  • Supports the group getting to and from activities and sites
  • Manages logistics (transportation, schedule, tickets)
  • Serves as the primary on-the-ground support and problem-solver

What You’ll See & Do

Day 1 | Departure
Set off for France and begin your European language immersion experience.
Meals Included: As served by the airline

Day 2 | Paris
Arrive in Paris and get acquainted with the city. Stroll along the Champs-Élysées and see Notre-Dame before gathering for a welcome dinner.

Day 3 | Paris
Visit the Louvre Museum at your own pace, then explore Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur. Enjoy time to practice your French in local cafés and shops.
Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 4 | Paris
Enjoy your final day in Paris with time for sightseeing and your group’s selected activity: a visit to Atelier des Lumières or an Alsatian tarte flambée cooking workshop. If your group chooses to take the cooking workshop in Strasbourg, it will take place on Day 5 instead. End the day with a Bateaux Mouches Seine river cruise.

Day 5 | Strasbourg
Travel by train to Strasbourg, capital of the Alsace region. Explore the city and discover its distinctive French and German influences.

Day 6 | Family Stay
Travel to your host community in France or Germany and meet your host family.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Days 7–10 | Family Stay
Experience everyday life with your French or German host family while putting your language skills into practice.

Day 11 | Munich
Say goodbye to your host family and travel to Munich. Explore the Altstadt, see the Glockenspiel at Marienplatz, and discover the city by guided bike tour.

Day 12 | Munich
Explore Munich and Bavaria with a visit to Nymphenburg Palace. Enjoy lunch at Viktualienmarkt before choosing from attractions including Olympic Park, the Deutsches Museum, or the BMW Museum.

Day 13 | Munich
Travel through the Bavarian countryside to visit one of King Ludwig’s castles before celebrating your journey with a farewell dinner.

Day 14 | Return
Say goodbye to Europe and return to the United States.

Important Details

Prices are based on a minimum group size of 24 students. If the minimum is not met and your group cannot be combined, a small-group supplement will apply. Final pricing is determined by confirmed dates, air arrangements, family stay communities, program components, group size, and number of leaders at final billing.

Prices are subject to change due to fluctuations in fuel prices, exchange rates, and airfare costs beyond the control of Xperitas.

The order of itinerary items may change due to unforeseen circumstances prior to or during the program.
