Discover the land famous for mountains, chocolates and cheese! Delve into the rich cultural heritage of Switzerland through its historic museums and castles as you travel through Lausanne and Montreux. This unique French language immersion experience begins for your student group when they meet their famille d’accueil. French language skills learned in the classroom come to life in this in-depth language immersion experience in France. Our unforgettable Family Stay Experience® allows students to become temporary locals and appreciate the French lifestyle. Students live, speak the target language, and learn about cultural exchange in a very authentic way. Conclude your journey in Paris, “The City of Lights.”

Program Itinerary

Day 1 En Route
En route to Geneva, Switzerland.

Day 2 Lausanne
Called the “San Francisco” of Switzerland because of its hills and beauty, Lausanne is home to the Musée Olympique and to Switzerland’s largest university. You can take the funicular metro that runs from the lake to the top of the city or visit the Cathédrale de Lausanne, one of the largest medieval churches in the country.

Day 3 Montreux
A motor coach will take you to the resort city of Montreux with its picturesque views of the Lake Geneva, enhanced by the beautiful background of the Alps. Walk the cobblestone streets of the small village of Gruyère, visit the cheese factory and enjoy a raclette lunch. Visit the Broc fabrique, home of Nestlé chocolate, and enjoy complimentary chocolate samples.

Day 4 Montreux
Visit the Château de Chillon, built in the mid-12th century, home to the Counts of Savoy. Continue your day with an interactive visit to the Food Museum in Vevey. Your day concludes with a relaxing boat ride on Lake Geneva.

Day 5 - 9 Family Stay
Today is the day you’ve been waiting for! Take the train to Lyon, or Annecy and meet your famille d’accueil. Enjoy six days practicing French and experiencing their daily lives.

Day 10 Paris
Take the TGV to Paris and enjoy the “City of Lights.” Explore the Quartier Latin and the Jardin de Luxembourg. Then stroll through the Quartier St. Michel where you can take a walk down the Seine River on the Île de la Cité. Visit the Cathédrale de Notre Dame, la Sainte Chapelle et la Conciergerie.

Day 11 Paris
Discover the Louvre and its famous pyramid, and then experience the quaint Montmartre district. Visit the Basilique du Sacré Coeur and celebrate French artistry at the Place du Tertre.

Day 12 Paris
Take in the city by night during your Bateaux Mouches Seine river cruise.

Day 13 Paris
Visit le Musée d’Orsay and/or le Musée Rodin on your way to Les Invalides. Enjoy a farewell dinner before ascending to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Day 14 Return
Transfer to airport and return to the U.S.

• $5299-5399 based on 10-14 students + 2 leaders
• $5199-5299 based on 15-19 students + 3 leaders
• $4939-5039 based on 20-24 students + 3 leaders
• $4939-5039 based on 25+ students + 4 leaders

*Ranges based on estimated numbers of participants and leaders.  Final prices are determined by dates, air arrangements, family stay communities and other program components as confirmed by Xperitas, as well as the total size of their group at the time of final billing. Prices are subject to change due to fluctuations in exchange rates and airfare costs beyond the control of Xperitas.

The order of this itinerary and all itinerary items are subject to change based on unforeseen circumstances that may arise prior to or during the program.



INCLUSIONS EXCLUSIONS
• Insurance for minor illness or accidents, and trip cancellation insurance for medical reasons for all participants and leaders
• Liability insurance for leaders
• $10 International phone allowance per day for one leader while in country
• Estimated international round-trip airfare for the routing ORD - GVA, CDG - ORD , including fuel surcharges
• Two (2) airport transfers, plus transportation per itinerary
• Five (5) family stay nights for participants (all meals at home included for participants during the family stay)
• Five (5) hotel overnights or family stay for leaders (all meals at home included for leaders during the family stay, breakfast only for hotel stay)
• Seven (7) hotel overnights for participants and leaders with breakfast (leaders in double rooms and participants in triples/quads)
• One Xperitas-arranged lunch and all dinners for participants and leaders when students are not with family stays
• $75 per student entrance fee allowance
• $20 per student public transportation allowance

Xperitas Financial Aid

Families with a household income of $60,000 or less qualify to receive financial aid. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and can be found at https://www.xperitas.org/language-immersion-programs/faq/financial-aid-for-students

Payment and Cancellation Schedule

Summer Programs 2024

Billing and Payments: Xperitas will email a bill for the final payment approximately three weeks before it is due. For all other payments please refer to this schedule. A payment reminder will be sent to you via email a week before a scheduled payment is due. Payments can be made by credit/debit card via the Xperitas portal or by check or money order payable to Xperitas.

Cancellations: Any cancellation made through October 15, 2023 will receive a full refund. Cancellations made after this date will be calculated on an individual basis at the time of cancellation and follow the schedule and terms below.
